BLOG Talk!

Can’t wait to try / participate in a beta test if available. Are we talking about weeks, months or… A little peek in a possible time frame?

I’m not sure- but I think there are a couple other simulator software systems out there which either don’t support D-Box sims at all- or don’t without significant price. I’d love to see D-Box partner with these other systems to bring the software/support to D-Box owners without having to go through so much on their own.

Again, we are all very glad about all the excitement but I cannot give any indications on the timeline as we simply do not know just yet, these partnership with major brands take time and we want to ensure we do it right!

We are aware of the massive demand for such compatibility, D-BOX is currently working on it however it also required collaboration from Microsoft and Sony and that takes time. We want it to happen just as much as you do!

Welcome to the D-BOX family FƩlix Gervais-Oneil

Hi FĆ©lix, thank you for the insight into what goes into haptic coding. Very interesting. How many hours does it typically take to code a specific game (or movie). I’m assuming that the amount of time has been somewhat reduced now that D-BOX has a library of haptic codes to choose from?

Hi Jean! It can take 2 days like it can take up to 2 weeks to code a new game. It depends on a lot of factors and you are right that we build our effects library as we go. It will take longer if we have to design new effects or specific sequences. It also depends on how many different actions the player can do in a game, the more there are, the more we have to mix and test it all. Thanks for your question!

Thank you Brandon! I’ve been at D-BOX for a good 4 years at this point but welcomes are always nice

A big welcome to FĆ©lix! Here’s a suggestion, but it might make people sick. How about encoding VR games for a heightened sense of reality!

Jerry! There are tons of encoded VR games. Mostly all driving games.

Speaking of VR- how much is D-Box talking about solutions for non-sitting VR? Curious what kind of haptic solutions you’ve been thinking of for the floor, etc.
